Three Perfect Rolex Strap Pairings

Three Perfect Rolex Strap Pairings

If you’ve ever swapped out your Rolex bracelet, you know that straps can breathe new life into your watch. That said, certain straps work best on certain watches; it’s all about how you plan to wear it, materials, and aesthetic appeal. Today I’d like to share with you what are, in my opinion, three perfect Rolex strap pairings. Let’s get started.

Rolex Daytona on Perforated Racing Leather

Rolex Daytona on Perforated Racing Leather Strap

The Rolex Daytona – originally designated as the Rolex Le Mans – was created in and for the golden age of motorsport. The chronograph function and tachymeter bezel enabled drivers and spectators alike to time laps, calculate speeds, and let's face it, to look cool. To this day, the Daytona is synonymous with motorsport. Rolex sponsors the biggest events in racing such as 24 Hours of Le Mans: the winners of which receive Daytonas as prizes.

Given the Daytona’s inextricable ties with racing, the Everest perforated racing leather strap is a match made in heaven (specifically in black with red stitching). Perforated leather is a ubiquitous material in high-end vehicle interiors. It’s luxurious, breathable, and once again, it’s just plain cool. This strap’s red stitching perfectly matches the dial’s red ‘Daytona’ text above the 6 o’clock subdial. Our curved-end design is tailor-made for the Daytona’s case and lugs. Frankly, it’s hard to find a better strap for the Rolex Daytona, especially if you’re a petrolhead.

Sea-Dweller 4000 on Deployant Rubber

I could ramble on and on about what makes the Sea-Dweller 4000 so special, but I’ll spare you by keeping it somewhat short. At just 40mm in diameter, the Sea-Dweller 4000 adopts most of the charm found in its 5-digit predecessors, but offers modern creature comforts like a virtually-scratchproof Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel insert, Glidelock and Fliplock adjustment in the clasp, and in-house caliber 3135. Simply put, the Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 is a modern classic dive watch.

Pictured clasp is not from the Sea-Dweller 4000, but fitment is the same.

When I think ‘dive watch’, I think ‘rubber’. The tough, waterproof material is perfect for underwater adventures, but it’s comfortable enough to be your daily strap. Our curved-end rubber strap for the Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 incorporates your watch’s OEM deployant clasp, maintaining its Glidelock and Fliplock adjustment capabilities. If you have a SD4000 and haven’t tried this pairing, I must say, you’re missing out. We also carry straps for various Sea-Dweller references.

Rolex Milgauss on Green/Orange Rubber

The other two pairings on this list are what I would consider subdued, everyday-ready watch/strap combinations. This last one is a bit more out there, but so is the watch itself. The modern Rolex Milgauss (ref. 116400) features a bright orange lightning bolt seconds hand, and optionally, a green-tinted sapphire crystal. Everest offers both green and orange rubber straps for the Rolex Milgauss, both tailor-fit to hug the model’s case and lugs. These color-matched straps are compatible with the Milgauss’ OEM deployant clasp. If you're looking to lean into color, this pairing will be your best friend.
