When Can We Expect Rolex's 2025 Watch Releases?

When Can We Expect Rolex's 2025 Watch Releases?

Historically, Rolex's watch release schedule has been fairly predictable: new Rolexes are released at the big fair in spring. For decades, that fair was Baselworld, which took place from 1917 until it ended in 2020. At its peak, Baselworld was the world's leading watch and jewellery exhibition—a key event where Rolex and other luxury brands typically unveiled their new models.

However, due to financial issues and the global pandemic, Baselworld was eventually discontinued. In its place, Rolex, along with Patek Philippe, Richemont, and other industry leaders, launched a new spring watch fair: the evolved Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), now known as Watches and Wonders. Like Baselworld before it, Watches and Wonders has become the go-to event for brands to reveal their latest releases, with Rolex continuing to take centre stage.

When Will Rolex Release Watches in 2025?

Rolex is expected to reveal most (if not all) of its 2025 collection at Watches and Wonders in Geneva, which will run from Tuesday, 1 April to Monday, 7 April. On day one—April 1—Rolex will lift the curtain on its latest models. So, brace yourself for the usual April Fools' banter across social media.

The big question remains: what will Rolex unveil this year? Most of the new releases will likely be updates of existing models, similar to this year’s GMT-Master II ‘Bruce Wayne’. However, there’s always the possibility of an entirely new model—two years ago, Rolex launched the 1908 (if we can even call that a truly “new” release).

"Off-Schedule" Releases

Rolex has been known to occasionally break away from the traditional trade fair schedule. A notable example was the June 2023 release of the White Gold ‘Le Mans’ Daytona. However, in 2024, Rolex made the decision not to launch any new models after April’s Watches and Wonders. It’s likely that the timing of these releases isn’t as important to Rolex as it might be for other brands.

Unexpected Surprises?

Unlike other watchmakers, including Rolex’s sister brand Tudor, Rolex doesn't typically benefit from surprise releases spread across the year. The reason? Rolex operates on a much larger timeline than most of its competitors, largely due to its production strategy. This slower pace allows Rolex to carefully manage its output while maintaining its focus on quality and precision.

TLDR: Only time will tell how Rolex distributes its 2025 releases.
